Ian McIntosh
Home to the Freeride World Tour, Fieberbrunn has spectacular terrain for the keen backcountry skier.

Ian McIntosh is one of the top skiers in the world. You will recognise him from the TGR movies, from Powder Magazine Awards, The Freeride World Tour, his endless crazy lines on Youtube and photos published in every ski magazine. If you’ve always wanted to ski off piste or improve your backcountry skiing then who else is more qualified than Ian McIntosh???

What’s going to go down?
Don’t worry, we won’t be skiing any of this crazy stuff. But Ian will help you improve your backcountry skiing, skills & technique. As well as teach you the knowledge you need to stay safe off piste, how to choose a line and of course adopt the athlete mindset that Ian uses to overcome fear.
You will ski with Ian for 6 days; each day will be a different adventure. You’ll spend the first day or two skiing inbounds focusing on your technique. And on the other days you will explore these incredible valleys skiing peak to valley floors, open bowls, tress, ski touring, searching for pow and finding your way down to a nice cold beer at the end of the day. (Please note safety is our priority and our activities will depend on avalanche and weather conditions.)

Beautiful rooms, relaxing spa with pool, gym, hot tubs and delicious local cuisine for our breakfast and dinners. The Freeride World Tour athletes stay here during competition time for good reason, it’s excellent.

What level do I have to be and who’s going to be there?
We will be a group of 10 and everyone will be a keen skier just like yourself. There have been a lot of bromances that have developed on our Uthrive trips!
Our trips with Ian tend be full of adventures so we recommend you are a competent off piste skier. We do our best to have the group at the same level, so no one is waiting, and no one feels they are letting the group down. We can easily split the group if people want to ski different things or if there is a difference in levels within the group. There is a way down for everyone. But we do advise you are an advance skier. First time ski tourers are welcome, but a good level of fitness will be required. (We recognise there are a lot of good skiers who are experienced in the backcountry but have only done heli skiing rather than ski touring) If in doubt speak to Rachel.

On the Uthrive trip with Ian last winter our guests said it was the best skiing of their life! We skied couloirs, had amazing days exploring open bowls, skied pow down to small villages, went ski touring and were invited in by farmers for a beer who then towed us on their snowmobiles back to the nearest road. On Ians trips every day is an adventure! Read what our guests said about our Uthrive trips with Ian here
