What’s the plan?
Don’t worry, we won’t be skiing any of this crazy stuff. However, Ian will be there to assist you in improving your backcountry skills and technique. You will receive personalised coaching that will help you improve your skiing abilities and take your skiing level to new heights – pun intended 😉 He will also provide crucial knowledge on staying safe off-piste, selecting the best lines, and adopting the athlete mindset used to conquer fear. During the trip, you will have the opportunity to experience The Four Valleys renowned ski slopes, plus ski touring experiences with Ian McIntosh himself!
On a previous trip with Ian, many of our guests described it as “the best week of their lives!” We’ve skied couloirs, explored open bowls on amazing bluebird days, enjoyed powdery descents down to small villages, went on exciting ski touring adventures, and even got invited by a friendly farmer for a beer, who then towed us on his snowmobiles back to the nearest road. What skill level is required and who will be there?
We will be a group of 10 max, and everyone will be keen skiers, just like yourself. We’ve had awesome groups on our trips and many “friends for life” have formed on our Uthrive trips!
Our adventures with Ian are always thrilling and exhilarating, so we recommend that you are an advance skier. Rest assured, there is a suitable route for every one. We strive to ensure the group maintains a consistent level of skill, so no one feels left behind or that they have to wait. If there are varying preferences or skill levels within the group, we will accommodate by dividing into smaller sub-groups. First time ski tourers are welcome (what better way to start than in the beautiful French Alps), but a high level of fitness is required. What’s Included?
As soon as you arrive everything is taken care of. Besides 6 days of epic skiing with Ian, our ski trip includes, 7 nights in a luxurious chalet located on the side of the mountain, premium local cuisine from our private chef, lift passes, and bragging rights that you skied with Ian. Flights, insurance and ski equipment are not included.
