When I wanted to start doing a series of interviews focusing on health in the workplace Strauss Zelnick was the first person who came to mind. CEO of Take-Two Interactive Software, who brought you games like Grand Theft Auto and the NBA2K series, and head of parent company ZMC, Strauss clearly leads by example and keeps very fit. So I was excited to sit and talk fitness, health and managing a work-life balance with him.
I have looked up to Strauss for a long time and what recently grabbed my attention was that he has started up The Program which is a fitness club for those who work on Wall Street. They meet every morning and do a variety of workouts, hit sessions, cycling, weights the list goes on. As you know here at Uthrive we encourage exercise in the workplace to keep staff productive, healthy and motivated. So what better way to do this than workout with others who are experiencing the same lifestyle as you – I thought it was a great idea.
We discuss The Program and his intense fitness regime that keeps him at the top of his game. How he leads by example to his employees and has a healthy team as a result. How using walking clubs can help build relationship within your organization and the different cultures of companies that exist today – the drinking meeting vs the work out meeting.
